When Tomorrow Never Came
We spoke on the phone
We spoke in person,
hand in hand and
face to face
We spoke in rhymes
We spoke in rhythms
of heartbeats
and in leather and lace
We spoke with eyes
We spoke with body language
that beckoned all will
to not surrender just yet
We spoke with tender promises
We spoke in hushed voices
and we mapped our lives
in intricate details albeit...
We spoke in the sunshine,
We spoke even in the rain
and we snuggled in private
and played the game
We spoke in quiet gestures
We spoke with soft touches
and wondered how our life
would ever be the same
We spoke through spoken words
We spoke through treasured letters
and we sought each other out
for refuge from the tempest
We spoke of our love
We spoke of our dreams
in the silence of our hearts
and we did our very best
Then the tears fell
cascading down in torrents
like sequined jewels
shattering everthing....
When tomorrow never came.....

The River Of Light
I come before you humble, alone and afraid
Seeking only that which is my birthright
There are no shadows to hide within here
When I stand at the edge of the river of light
Only deeply seeded memories of the past
Now fading slowly as if evaporating in mist
And you come before me, as I stand there
Vulnerable, blessed by a heart blown kiss
I ask for my penance, my ultimate dues
Seeking forgiveness from your wisdom
As I stand at the feet of your mercy
Awaiting acceptance to your kingdom
Ah, but the lingering bitterness of memories
Still tainted and haunted from deep within
Devoid of cover, the light magnifies my souls core
Exposing the tiny particles of my human sin
Slowly, in the quiet recesses of my mind
Comes the cry of agonizing anxietys wail
Giving me sufficient berth, to undress my heart
And reveal the contents in minute detail
Closer examination brings hot fretful tears
Tears of joy, tears of healing and of pain
Yet, I succumb to the call that rages within
To stand at the river of light, instantly slain
By the truth within the waters that flood
Against my ribcage, and encompassing flesh
Witnessing a baptism of my own soul
Where the land and sea now begin to mesh
I stand on the banks of the river of light
And embrace with dire hope, and fervent prayer
That this should be the final journey into darkness
To unburden fiery shadows that lingers there
A sigh escapes me as I stand vulnerable to you
In the wake of unknowing, and quiet hopes song
That maybe one day, this day will be forgotten
And peace abounds, when I can truly belong
Laud the river of light as it flows
And breathes new life into me
For it shall be the waters that sustain
And give birth within a raging sea

It's been a chaotic week, but thank Heavens the storm passed us by.....ironically, the remnnats of it hit where our company evacuated us to *LOL*.....I slept all day, and feel better tonight....
I've missed you, and am sending lots of love and heart hugs your way....
